I live for all things geeky: cosplaying, conventions, live streaming, manga binges, anime marathons, and every nerdy adventure in between. When it comes to crafting, I’m a bit of a mad scientist — I work with polymer clay, epoxy, resin, wood, metals, fabric, fur, foam, worbla… and probably a few other materials I’m forgetting because the list keeps growing! Most of my cosplays are built completely from scratch, and I love sharing the process! Where it all began:
My crafting journey started as a little girl with my very own “craft cabinet” tucked under the living room TV (next to my grandparents record collection). When I wasn’t working there, I was in my grandpa’s woodshop or up in his office where he made models. He taught me to never fear learning a new skill and getting my hands dirty. My grandma’s mantra, “let my thinker think,” still inspires me — reminding me that imagination (plus a bit of patience) can solve almost anything.

Fast-forward to my teen years and mall earrings that fell apart after three wears (rip, cute cat earrings 🐱). I was really sad that they broke and I thought, “I can make it better.” So I did. Polymer clay earrings turned into vending at local craft shows, which turned into bigger events, which eventually turned into cosplay… and now I’m working on everything from Tiefling horns and tails to my very first fursuit!

With a big push from friends who believed in my crafty superpowers, I finally took the leap from hobbyist to maker boss. They saw the dedication and skill I’d been sharpening for years and encouraged me to dream bigger — to turn passion into purpose. And so, with grit, creativity, and a whole lot of nerdy heart, Nerdy by Trade was born — lovingly conjured by your ever-curious, always-nerdy Duchess.

The heart of Nerdy by Trade is creating a line of products that are cool, unique, and unapologetically quirky. Think niche, artsy, and kitschy pieces that stand out from the crowd. Every item — whether it’s jewelry, an accessory, a cosplay, an outfit, or something totally unexpected — is designed to celebrate inclusivity, creativity, and innovation while sparking a little joy along the way.

Right now, Nerdy by Trade is in its “origin story” phase — small but mighty, and leveling up fast.
